Ellia's First Birthday
One year ago today, little Ellia Mercer Homstad entered into our lives, and our lives have never been the same. We're so, so blessed to have two healthy, happy children, who brighten our days and lives in ways too numerous to list. I (this is Sarah) was telling Pa last night, that when it was just Henry in our lives, it was like we were holding onto a sparkler on the Fourth of July, and it was so brilliant and shiny and glowing and we just wanted to stare into the light and study the dancing sparks. And now with Ellia, it's like having a sparkler in each hand. Sometimes you hold them apart from one another and move your eyes quickly back and forth between them, because they're each so bright and beautiful. And the brightest, most amazing thing ever is when you bring both hands together and the two sparklers join forces and their light combines to become one beautiful, dancing ball of brightness. It's really something to behold.
